The Blue Incubator

First Oceanfront BlueTech & Blue Economy Incubator on the US Eastern Seaboard The BLUE Incubator is the core entrepreneurial element of BLUE Institute Labs, PBC and was created in 2017 to: address gaps in "Blue" entrepreneurship; to expand the blue ecosystem; and most importantly to provide affordable and easily accessible access to in ocean testing, training, labs and services. The "BLUE Innovation Center" (or just "BLUE") will be the first BlueTech, water security & coastal resiliency hub on the US Eastern Seaboard with direct access to the Ocean and is currently in development to co-locate the BLUE Institute Labs, PBC and its sister non-profit the BLUE Institute. The "BLUE" is designed to serve the Blue Cluster of Academia, Government and Industry alongside start-ups & students and will offer shared collaborative on-sight services, co-working & office space, labs and reliable ocean access for testing, training, and teaching in a BlueTech and the wider blue economy ecosystem. During the facility development (currently going through development planning in Newport, RI and Plymouth/Boston, MA) the Blue Incubator will continue to assist the successful growth of BlueTech, Water Security, and the wider Blue Economy companies through the finest technical support, business growth, and investment opportunities - stay tuned for rollout of new BLUE programming such as our “Advanced Special Topics“ the "BLUE Excelerator," and the "BLUE Escalator*," an advanced low residency program in development for "post-prototype" Startups.

Criteria: We mentor , incubate with the region's premier Business Accelerators - Clean Tech Open and MassChallenge, and collaborate with the region's GreenTech & BlueTech ecosystem builders such as NECEC, District Hall/Venture Cafe Providence, ACTION Network, MTS, MOTN, and the Blue Innovation Symposium. We continue to attract the most innovative startup companies and the brightest minds from the "Triple Helix" of academia, industry, and government.
